It was great to welcome the Axiom Maths team to St Mark’s Academy and have them see one of our maths circles in action. Being part of the Axiom Maths academic advisory committee, I’ve been aware of Axiom’s work for a while, so it was really nice to see the programme working with students at our school. The sessions give pupils the chance to tackle interesting problems, share their ideas and think about maths in a way that isn’t always possible in a busy classroom. It’s also been lovely to see different sides of students, with some of the quieter pupils becoming some of the most engaged contributors.

Running the maths circle has been a really enjoyable experience, particularly seeing students grow in confidence and become more willing to have a go, even when they don’t know the answer straight away. Axiom Maths is doing something really valuable by helping young people develop curiosity, resilience and a genuine enjoyment of problem-solving. It’s been a pleasure to be involved and to support such a worthwhile programme in our school.
