Honoured to speak at the Pearson School and Colleges Report launch on May 5th 2026. Education is always evolving and this year’s report captures five years of insights from 50,000+ voices on AI, SEND, and the future of learning.

In my speech, I reflected on why this work matters. Reports like this ask the real questions: What’s working? What isn’t? What could make things better? And how are teachers and students actually doing?
The biggest driver of student success is quality teaching – teaching that is thoughtful, adaptive, reflective. But great teaching needs something we don’t talk about enough: Time.
My hope for the future? That we prioritise people. Students, teachers, every member of school staff. That we create environments where everyone can thrive, not just survive!
It was also such a privilege to share the stage with Freya Thomas Monk (Managing Director of Pearson Qualifications), Gerry McDonald CBE (CEO of New City College), Sean Catford (UK Sales Director Pearson Qualifications), with some amazing school students, and the Lord Mayor of Westminster Paul Dimoldenberg.
Well done to the Pearson team for putting on the brilliant event. It was full of inspiring people having powerful conversations about the future of education. It was great!
